For this month I tried to combine several different January Sscrap challenges. I have accommodated five. The challenges and requirements are:
- Challenge YOUrself: Thema „working together“
- Scrap Our Stash: Recipe Challenge:
1 word title, 2 photos, 3 embelishment clusters, 4 patterned papers, 5 enamel dots - Sketches in Thyme: Sketch #499 (Jan 22 – 1)
- Lasting Memories: add a hidden pocket (LM #580)
- Let’s craft and create: Something New
(I interpreted this a bit generously: combining several challenges for the first time; photos from my first obstacle run; trying out my Faber Castell watercolour pencils for the background for the first time)
Zu meinem Layout (English version see below)

About my layout
The photos are from my first X-Cross Run (www.xcrossrun.at) (something new) - 5 km obstacle run over various hurdles, sometimes also down through, through water, mud and sand. It's really dirty. The penultimate obstacle was three wooden walls of different heights. I would have probably failed on the middle one alone. At that point I was already pretty tired and exhausted. But with a bit of teamwork (working together) I still managed!
I like to design the backgrounds for my layouts myself. This time I tried something new - my recently purchased Faber Castell watercolour pencils were used for the first time. Conclusion: I like the result, but for large backgrounds they are perhaps not the most suitable means. I added splashes of brown acrylic paint to the whole thing to make it more in keeping with the character of the X-Cross-Run.
Behind the right photo is an opening in which a jornaling card is hidden (hidden pocket). I have pulled it out a bit so that you can better see where it is.
